Kök-börü — Traditional Equestrian Team Game
Kök-börü (often called “kok boru” or “ulak tartish”) is one of the most spectacular and significant national sports among the Kyrgyz people. Its roots go back to nomadic traditions: hunting, horse mastery, and teamwork were always vital skills for the steppe peoples.

Game Objective and Rules
Two teams of riders compete.
The goal is to grab a goat carcass (or its sporting equivalent) and deliver it to the “tai-kazan” — a circular scoring zone in the opponent’s area.
The game lasts several periods, with fierce battles for every point in each one.
