Toguz Korgool — Ancient Intellectual Game of the Nomads

Toguz Korgool is an ancient intellectual game of the nomads and a unique part of Kyrgyzstan’s cultural heritage. It is a logical board game belonging to the global family of mancala games. Two players compete on a board with 18 small pits and two large “kazans” (scoring bowls).

The goal is to collect as many korgools (stones or seeds) as possible by using strategy, precise calculation, and tactical thinking. The winner is the one who outsmarts the opponent through logic and foresight.

Toguz Korgool develops intelligence, patience, and analytical thinking, and is rightfully known as the “chess of the Great Steppe.”
